We have RAIN!! I think I can see the grass turning back to green as I write this. Too bad it will just be dead again before we know it. ;)
And totally unrelated, but I completely got sucked into more reality TV last night. It was the beginning of a new season of The Bachelor, and what did I do? I stayed up way too late and watched it. I don't know what it is that draws me to these shows. I'm guessing that one of the reasons is because I don't have to think about anything while I'm watching. I just get to laugh at the naivety of complete strangers who just want their 5 minutes of glory (and then cry like babies when they get sent home at the end of the first episode). I really wonder what these women think when they decide to be on this show. I mean, they have to have seen the show before and they have to know that there is ONE guy to 25 women. Obviously someone is going home. I just really don't understand it. If you can shed any light on it for me I'd love to hear your thoughts. Until then, I am (sadly) eagerly anticipating the drama of next weeks show. ;)

I heart reality TV for many reasons... none really have any relevance to my real life nor do I feel like I am watching for the pursuit of intellectual stimulation (why else would I ALSO stay up late to watch The Hills AND The Life of Ryan on MTV or sit through the painful antics of Big Brother for EIGHT pathetic years?!?!?)
Mostly it has to do with that train wreck mentality - I watch because I am mortified by the behaviors of humans!
AND, I like a cheap laugh at the expense of others (okay NOT really but sort of...) As in: Are you for real that you are going to cry after meeting a man for 39 seconds even though you know ultimately he will only pick one and that one was not you?! Are you crying because (1) you did not get picked, because (2) your self esteem depends on being picked OR because (3) you did not get enough TV time to start up an actual TV career?!)
How would we SURVIVE without reality TV?! LOVE IT!!!
I DVR all the cheesy reality shows so I can watch them at leisure and FF through the goofy parts, which unfortunately leaves me with only like 20 minutes per hour. LOL
Along with my Tori & Dean obsession, my other fave reality "show" is America's Next Top Model....seriously. Can you believe it? Then I practice all my poses in the mirror. :) Just when I swore reality tv was on its way out, I get sucked into more and more. I suppose its not likely to change with the 3am feedings on their way....
THANK GOD FOR RAIN!!!!!
We tend to get sucked into reality TV too. How bad is it that when I watch The Biggest Loser that I almost always make a point of eating cookies, ice cream or pie? :-)
Melissa~ OMG ME TOO! I felt guilty admitting that! ;)
