I love it...

I think every age and stage that Grayson has gone through has been my favorite, until now. Don't get me wrong, I still look back at every point in his very short 2 years and I can honestly say that I have loved most everything about it, but for some reason, I think the past 2-3 months have been the absolute best so far because...

*I love it that, to Grayson, a trip to Lowes is like a trip to Disney World. He gets so excited about the most random things while we're in there, and his face lights up like it's Christmas.

*I love it that I can have a full conversation with my son and we can understand everything the other one is saying.

*I love it that Gray has developed a "class-clown" sort of personality in that he will do anything to get a laugh and continue whatever it is he is doing because he knows he had captured your attention. He LOVES to show off. And yes it drives me crazy at some points, and it worries me what he'll be like as a student when he goes to "real" school, but more often than not I find myself cracking up at his antics.

*I love it that Grayson can go months without seeing our extended families and has never seen any one family member on a regular basis, but that he knows who they are and gets incredibly excited about seeing them when it does happen.

*I love it that Gray loves music and is constantly singing and playing his guitar, even when no one else is watching. I love that he makes up his own little medley of songs, and that he can listen to his favorite song "AlAMbama" over and over again.

*I love it that he still wants to cuddle up every night and read books with us before going to bed, even when he's just using it as a way to prolong the inevitable.

*I love it that at 2-years of age, my son already understands that reading one more book means prolonging bedtime, even if it's only for 1 more minute.

*I love it that Gray says things like "That's kinda silly, isn't it?" and "Maybe someday?" and "Probably later" to adults and kids alike. I love hearing the sound of his voice when he says these things and the way he puts emphasis at the end of each of his sentences as if he's making sure he gets his point across.

*I love it that my son has whole-heartedly (for the most part) welcomed 5 other children into our home without batting an eye. Yes, we have rough days when he would rather it just be the 2 (or 3) of us, but he still gets excited every morning when his friends arrive.

*I love it that at this age, Grayson is fiercely independent, yet still needs, and wants, his momma around, just to be sure.

Awe! Very sweet!

I, too, love the 'grown up' phrases like "That's kind of silly". Lily's new one is "That's a tricky one"!

Yeah, I have to say that that picture is my favorite right now.

And I think hearing Lily say "My dad is the man!" beats any other phrases right now! ;)
