Update

I had my "monthly" check-up for baby #2 yesterday at 15 weeks, 1 day. All was well, except for the fact that I'm not really gaining any weight yet (though you wouldn't think that by looking at me). I admittedly have had a very difficult time with eating this pregnancy, and the stomach "bug" that I had a week ago really didn't help. Food just doesn't sound good most of the time, and even when something does, I can't seem to eat very much of it. I'm hoping that will start to change in the next couple of weeks, but am trying not to stress out about it for now.

The big excitement at my appointment yesterday was that Grayson heard the baby's heartbeat. He had asked to go with me, and I figured it couldn't hurt. Looking back on it, I'm actually really glad that he got to see what happens at the appointments in preparation for my hospital stay. He was really nervous when we first got there, but I talked him through everything, and made sure he understood that nothing was hurting me. He was very unsure when I had to go sit up on the table for the Dr. to find the baby's heartbeat, but I wish I had had a camera when he finally heard it. His entire face lit up and he was so excited. He couldn't wait to tell Nate about it when we got home and is still talking about it today. We get to have our big ultra sound at my next appointment, and we are so excited to see Gray's reaction.

Things seem to have a funny way of working themselves out the way they are supposed to, and though we tried for this baby a long time, I can't imagine things any differently now. I am loving the fact that Grayson can fully participate in things and that he wants to be involved. I'm really trying to enjoy this time before the baby comes and am trying to spend as much time as I can doing special things with Gray. That being said, I can not wait to see him in his new role of big brother. A role I think Grayson will embrace with all his heart.

I wish I had that trouble with eating... I eat like hoggy hog and am gaining plenty of weight for you and I (I got out of weigh in at the last visit - it was LOVELY ;)

That is not what I wanted to tell you though - I feel the same way with regards to Matthew. I was unsure about waiting and felt like everyone else was pregnant last year, that by waiting it was a bad thing (which is just silly but whatever... silly insecurities), and I know your situation is totally different but it has been so neat to have Matthew be so aware of it all & a part of it that makes it worth the wait...

Though K admitted to me that this morning he asked for a baby brother again!

Glad you had a good appointment. I think we took Lily to one appointment and decided NEVER AGAIN. Of course, we happened to take her to the appointment where we had to wait forever in the waiting room and then forever again in the exam room. She couldn't have cared less about hearing the heart beat as I recall. That's awesome that Grayson was so into it!

Don't worry about the weight gain. Enjoy it! My gain with #2 was slower in the beginning but definitely caught up by the end!

Can't wait for the big ultrasound!

You know you have one of the SWEETEST boys in the entire world, right? (I have to qualify that now that I have one of my own!) He's already a fabulous big brother! Can't wait to hear about his reaction to the big ultrasound!!!
