Christmas 2010

This guy made me really want to believe that there is a real Santa out there.
I actually kind of teared up as we were walking away from him
and almost turned around and gave him a big hug for doing what he does
and helping my beautiful boy to believe in magic.

It's a good thing that Santa bought into Scarlett being on the nice list.

Love these crazy kids.

Reading "The Night Before Christmas" with Uncle Pat before bedtime.
The kids loved having him here.

 Our incredibly pathetic tree.
I swear this thing died overnight.
At least the presents look pretty.
The stocking were stuffed to the brim.
And I'm totally going to toot my own horn and brag about the fact that I made those stocking holders.
I don't have a picture of the kids coming down the stairs from this Christmas due in part to the fact that Grayson was up at 5:15am.  I was already down in the kitchen getting my breakfast casserole together in the crockpot when I heard a couple thumps.  I though maybe my brother had heard me in the kitchen and was getting up until I heard the exciting shout of "Santa came!!!"  Gray came barreling down the rest of the stairs with the biggest grin on his face and sparkling eyes.  He was so excited!  It really took me back to when I was his age and Christmas morning was just magical.  I loved sharing this moment with Gray on my own.  He was a trooper when I told him I thought it was too early to wake Scarlett up and snuggled down on the couch to watch a Christmas movie for the next hour.

Scarlett was very dainty about the unwrapping process.
She would pull one little piece off at a time and hand it to me.
She wanted to sit and read each book and play with each toy after she opened it,
and we really had to encourage her to move on to the next package.

Grayson, on the other hand, is a seasoned pro,
and couldn't get through his gifts fast enough.
He was thrilled with this monster truck from his sister.
