Today, I was tickling Grayson when he shrieked "Enough, enough! I believe you've tickled my Christmas treats right out of me!"
Today, Scarlett learned how to turn the water on and off in the bathroom and also said "off" for the first time.
Today, I hung up Scarlett's first finger-painting.
Today, Scarlett said "Lily" for the first time.
Today, my son overcame his embarrassment and fear and apologized for his bad behavior. It took much longer than I would have liked, but I'm proud of him for owning his mistakes.
Today, my dishwasher is finally back up and running, just in time for Christmas parties and festivities.
Today, I feel more balanced and centered than I have in weeks, and am actually looking forward to all of our upcoming celebrations instead of being overwhelmed by all I have to do.
A week ago today Scarlett climbed out of her crib and made her way down the stairs all on her own. Today she is content to sit in her crib and play with a few toys until her tired little body convinces her to sleep.
Today, I have watched my children run, jump, play, sing, dance, and giggle with joy in my heart.

Parenting is a gift. It is also a gift to read your reflections on this period in the lives of your children.
