Sometimes,
when I watch her run and climb so fearlessly with her big brother,
or listen to her name all of the shapes and colors at circle time,
or hear her count to 10 without missing a beat
while she's laying in bed at night,
or hear her call out, "In a minute, mama, I readin' a book!,"
it's easy to forget that she's just two.
But when she calls out in the middle of the night,
and I go to her and ask her what's wrong
and she says "I want my mama"
and I sit and rock and feel her little body pressed up against me,
I find myself so incredibly thankful for the reminder.
