The kids and I headed to campus this past Saturday to cheer Nate on in the IU Mini Marathon. The weather held out long enough for us to get to our first stop before starting with a pretty steady light rain. We were fairly wet before Nate made it to where we were at mile 7, but the kids were in good humor and enjoying watching all of the runners so we stuck it out.
We waited around to see the guys again around mile 8 before heading to our next stop. Luckily there was a bus stop with a pretty sizable overhang for us to stand under while we waited to catch a glimpse Nate again. The kids stomped around in some little puddles and were both in their glory when they befriended a couple of dogs.
Nate was running with a couple of friends from work and the banana costume made a return appearance. This picture was right before mile 11. We saw the guys a total of 4 times and they always seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a good time.
We headed back to the car after seeing Nate again right after mile 11, just in time for it to start really pouring down. Luckily, the kids were all bundled up in our bike trailer which has a nice little rain shield on it and kept them fairly dry.
