Scarlett At 6 Months

At 6 months, Scarlett is growing like crazy. She is almost completely out of her 3 months clothes, especially pants, and is very quickly fitting into her 6 month stuff. She loves to talk and "screech," and has acquired lots of new sounds this past month. One of her favorites is "bah," which she says repeatedly in a really low voice. So funny. Well, to me at least.

Scarlett loves to move, and is hardly ever still. She mastered rolling over a couple of months ago, and now rolls back and forth as a way to get where she needs to go. In the past week she has started "scooting" her body forward, and if neither of those methods work, then she happily spins herself in a circle until she can get her hands on something to chew on. We're still working on sitting up, but she's getting better. As long as her attention is focused on something, she can sit for a minute or two on her own. after that she goes back to arching her back and trying to stand, which doesn't work so well at this point.

Scarlett loves watching Grayson play and interacts with him more and more each day. Luckily, Grayson will do just about anything to get a laugh out of his sister.

Sleep is finally starting to get better after some tough love on mom and dad's part and a little bit of sleep training. Last night she actually slept for 7 1/2 hours!! I'm hoping for a repeat tonight so maybe I can start to catch up on all the sleep I've missed for the past 7 months. I think one of the biggest contributors to the longer stretches of sleep is the fact that Scarlett can flip herself over onto her belly now. She has never really liked being on her back while sleeping and up until now has always rolled onto her side. Now she just flips herself over and pulls her legs up under her and passes out.

She is doing great with eating, too, and has come a long way from that first video I posted. Most nights I can't seem to get the food to Scarlett's mouth fast enough, and she sits in her highchair with her mouth open like a little bird waiting for more. She had squash for the first time a week ago and loved it. We started bananas this past weekend, but she wasn't so sure. It will be interesting to see what she develops a taste for in the next couple of months.

7.5 hours of sleep is awesome!! Isn't it crazy how much they start to change at this age? Love it!
