18 Months

Scarlett is 18 months old today. She seems so big to me at times that it is difficult to remember her like she was at this time last year.
I find it hard to believe that she wasn't talking or running, and had just started figuring out how to crawl. At 18 months, she is doing both of those things and more. Her vocabulary grows every day.

She runs everywhere.
She throws the biggest tantrums I've ever seen. She's graduated to a booster seat at the table
and climbs up and down with ease.
She's mastered eating with a fork and spoon, and can even drink from a "big kid" cup
(when she's not more interested in dumping it out and splashing, that is).
She loves reading, and will bring books to me throughout the day,
plop down in my lap, and turn the pages as I read to her. She loves animals and the sounds they make.
She LOVES talking on the phone.
She loves her big brother, especially when he chases her. She is still a mama's girl,
and though we butt heads many times throughout the day already,
I'm trying as hard as I can to hold onto her and these moments while she'll still let me.
She loves being independent.
I've learned that everything needs to seem like it was her idea
if I want things to happen without a fight.
She has recently started to become more attached to her blanket, which I secretly love
(shh, don't tell Nate).
She gets excited by Mickey and Minnie mouse. She loves to dance, and bob her head to music.
She is trying with all of her might to master jumping
and practices many times a day. She loves to wash her hands,
but doesn't at all mind getting messy.

Scarlett is all of these things and so much more. I love seeing more and more of who she is and who she'll be. I love looking back and seeing how much she has changed in such a short time. But no matter how much she changes and grows, no matter how many times we find ourselves bumping heads, she will always be my baby girl.

Happy 18 Month Birthday, Lettie!

SO BIG! I love the looks she gives too :)

Marisa just recently became attached to her blanket and like you I feel the same way - I love it secretly of course!

Also, thanks for the reminder... I need to stop saying Marisa is 18 months old, I guess... :(

There's nothing like the love between a mom and her babies....even if at times they don't see eye to eye. I love watching my baby girl (and yes, you'll always be my baby girl) bond and grow with her own babies. I love you Kelly-belle. You have much to be proud of. Tell Miss Scarlett GG says Happy 18 (thank God it's months and not years....not yet anyway)

See you soon.
